Bell Street Blues Club Night - Puke Ariki, New Plymouth
THURSDAY 12 AUGUST
Hosted by the Most FM’s Bell Street Blues Show, this promises to be a night of top blues action. New Plymouth’s own Blue Monkey Racket open the night. Fronted by Nic “Jellylegs” Boheimer, Blue Monkey Racket have a growing reputation as a dynamic live act, both locally and nationally. They are followed by Wellington’s The Thomas Oliver Band, who mix blues with rock, country and roots music influences. The night of blues closes with Britain’s latest blues sensation, the Oli Brown Band. Oli Brown’s guitar style has been described as a cross between Rory Gallagher and Steve Cropper. He and his band come to NZ fresh from playing Glastonbury in June.

Top NZ band The Checks, US teen guitar prodigy Desiree Bassett, UK blues sensation the Oli Brown Band, classical, jazz and world music from California Guitar Trio with King Crimson/Peter Gabriel bassist Tony Levin, finishing up with a grand finale All-Star Jam led by Uli Jon Roth, with Vinnie Moore, Jennifer Batten and Uli's band consisting of Mike Ehre, Niklas Turmann and Elliot Dean.

NZ bands Shotgun Alley and In Dread Response, followed by UFO guitarist Vinnie Moore, Michael Jackson’s former guitarist Jennifer Batten, metal supergroup Hail! and ending with our headline artist, the legendary Slash.
